Election Information

A reminder to all candidates:

Placement of political signage in boulevards or the public right-of-way is prohibited depending on local ordinance.  City Ordinance states, "It shall be unlawful to erect or maintain any sign, building or structure which encroaches upon any public street or property without first securing the permission of the governing body."  This includes political advertising.

NDCC 16.1-10-02 states, "No person may use any property belonging to or leased by, or any service which is provided to or carried on by, either directly or by contract, the state or any agency, department, bureau, board, commission, or political subdivision thereof, for any political purpose."  (emphasis added)

Thank you for your cooperation.
